In the nightcap of Wednesday’s double-header between the Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Yankees, Jake Mangum was originally slated to bat lead off and patrol center field. However, he was a late scratch for the second game. There has been reason given as of yet. Billy Cook will replace Mangum and bat ninth in the lineup.
Mangum went 2-for-5 with a RBI in the first game. On the season, he’s slashing .303/.353/.375 with a 17% strikeout rate. He has two home runs, 35 runs scored, 21 RBIs and 18 stolen bases in 270 plate appearances.
Cook is slashing .220/.220/.293 with a 36.6% strikeout rate and .073 ISO. He has nine runs, two RBIs, and five stolen bases in 41 plate appearances this season.
