What happened to Casey Mize? Live injury updates for Tigers vs. Angels on 7/19/26

In the bottom of the fourth inning of Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Angels, Casey Mize was replaced by Drew Anderson. Mize left the game due to suffering a hand injury after getting hit by a comebacker by Jo Adell.

Prior to exiting, Mize went 3.1 innings, allowed one earned run on five hits, walked one and struck out five. He threw 74 total pitches, 46 for strikes.

Since Mize faced more than five batters, he is not eligible for DraftKings Early Exit.
