Cardinals starting pitcher Dustin May exited Thursday’s game against the Braves after 0.2 innings and 34 pitches. The reason for his departure is currently unknown, although he was struck with a ball earlier in the inning.
May remained in the game following this play, recording one more out while allowing five earned runs, two walks and five hits.
