He went 5.2 innings against the Atlanta Braves on June 24, where he allowed two runs and recorded five strikeouts. Meanwhile, Boyd is 2-1 through six starts this season with a 5.02 ERA. This is Boyd’s second start in June, as he last started a game on June 25. Before that, he only had one start in May. Boyd has allowed five-plus runs twice this season, but in his last two contests, he has given up two or fewer runs each time.
Pete Crow-Armstrong is having an elite season, batting .284 with 17 HRs and 45 RBIs. Overall, the Cubs offense has been much better than the Padres this season. The Padres’ team batting average is .222, which is 19 points lower than the Cubs. The Cubs also have 93 more runs, 99 more hits, and 15 more home runs than the Padres.
