One of the three host nations, the United States, will play its final game of the 2026 World Cup group stage on Thursday night. Having already won the group, they face a Turkey squad that has lost both of their matches and been eliminated from the tournament.

FT: United States 2-3 Turkey. The U.S. didn’t need to win that one, but that’s a gut punch at the end. Regardless, they will face Bosnia in the Round of 32, while Turkey are eliminated.
90+7′: GOAL FOR TURKEY. With the last kick of the game, Turkey has won it. Arda Güler starts the attack with a nutmeg, and the ball is then crossed into the back post, and then squared across the face of the goal and tapped in by Kaan Ayhan. United States 2-3 Turkey.
76′: CHANCE. How close was that? Pulisic picks the ball up on the right just outside the box, cuts it onto his left foot and fires a shot that just goes outside the far post. He’s looked lively since coming on.
62′: CHANCE. Turkey’s Kenan Yıldız picks up the ball on the left side, cuts inside after beating his man and curls a shot to the far post that doesn’t miss by much.
62′: CHANCE. The United States have turned up the heat in the second half. It’s a cross into the box and Pulisic somehow gets some kind of touch on it, and it’s saved onto the post by the Turkish keeper. It might not’ve been going in, but it’s an incredible fingertip save and now the Turkish keeper Ugurcan Cakir has hurt himself in the process.
61′: CHANCE. Pulisic has made an immediate impact. He gets through on goal on the left side, but the angle is too tight and his shot is saved. Ricardo Pepi was wide open for a tap-in if he could’ve found him across the box.
57′: Here comes Captain America. Christian Pulisic enters the game and is greeted with a massive roar from the home crowd. Pulisic has been dealing with a calf injury and missed the Australia game, but he’s back.
48′: GOAL FOR THE UNITED STATES. What a rip that was from Sebastian Berhalter. It’s a long throw into the box and the ball is cleared to the edge of the box and Berhalter belts one into the near post and past the goalkeeper. United States 2-2 Turkey.
HT: United States 1-2 Turkey. The U.S. had eight shots, Turkey had four. In terms of shots on target, the United States had four, Turkey had two. On DraftKings Sportsbook, Turkey are -130 favorites on the moneyline, with a U.S. win set at +425. A draw is priced at +255.
45+2′: CHANCE. It’s another chance to score from a corner for the U.S. Auston Trusty almost scored his second goal of the game as he gets a good look on a header but it goes over the bar.
30′: GOAL FOR TURKEY. And just like that, Turkey come down the other end of the pitch and score. It’s good combination play from the Turks on the left side and the ball gets crossed across the face of the goal and is turned in by Orkun Kökçü. United States 1-2 Turkey.
29′: The United States have the ball in the net again from a corner, but this time it’s ruled out due to offside. The ball was bouncing around the box and eventually turned in, but it’s not going to count. The U.S. looks extremely dangerous from set pieces.
9′: GOAL FOR TURKEY. It’s Arda Güler who scores to level this one up. It was sloppy from the U.S. at the back as Turkey found some space down the side of the American defense and the ball was squared to Güler who slots it home. United States 1-1 Turkey.
2′: GOAL FOR THE UNITED STATES. What a start. After some early pressure, the U.S. wins a corner kick and it falls to Auston Trusty at the back post who has time to take a touch and rifles one into the back of the net. United States 1-0 Turkey.
1′: And we’re off! We have kickoff in Los Angeles, and the third game of the USA’s World Cup is underway.
