Even if they don’t need to win the game, momentum and confidence mean everything in a World Cup and the U.S. will want to win this one to keep that going.

However, I don’t expect wholesale changes, as the U.S. will want to keep everyone in form and clicking as they have been. It’s been a dream start to the World Cup for one of the three host countries. For Turkey, this World Cup has been a disaster. After losing both of their opening games, they have been eliminated and are just playing for pride. Both teams have nothing to play for in this one other than representing their countries at the world’s biggest stage. Turkey have been the biggest disappointment for many people in this tournament. They were in the conversation before the tournament as a team that could potentially win Group D.
