Senegal vs. Iraq prediction, pick for Friday 6/26/26

Best Bet for Senegal vs. Iraq

  • Senegal Win and Over 3.5: Senegal and Iraq have had very different performances in this World Cup. Senegal had France tied 0-0 before ultimately falling to them 3-1. Then, they lost a competitive 3-2 match to Norway. This is a very tough group, but they’ve competed. Iraq have been rolled over by both of those teams. They lost 4-1 to Norway and 3-0 to France. I think another big loss is in store here.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup continues on Friday as Senegal takes on Iraq in Group I.

Let’s dive into my favorite bet for this match.

Senegal vs. Iraq Prediction, Pick

Senegal enters this game ranked 19th in the FIFA rankings, while Iraq comes in at 59th in the world.

In three of the four games these teams have played so far in the World Cup, four or more goals have been scored. The only game that went under was Iraq’s 3-0 loss to France. Senegal are the better team here, and I expect them to show that on Friday. They won the AFCON final, before that was overturned due to reasons we don’t have time to get into here. The point being, they are one of the best teams in Africa. France and Norway as your first two games in a World Cup is brutal, and even though they lost both, they showed they can compete with the best in the World.

For Iraq, obviously this group was brutal before it even started. A 4-1 loss to Norway was followed up by a 3-0 loss to France. Although not mathematically eliminated yet, things are not looking good. This game should be the final nail in the coffin for them. Senegal are the better team on paper and on the pitch. The likes of Sadio Mane, Nicolas Jackson and Ismaïla Sarr will finally have the chance to express themselves against a weaker opponent. I expect a win here for Senegal, and a convincing one at that.

Best Bet: Senegal Win and Over 3.5 (+160)
