While other stars have started the 2026 World Cup strong, such as Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, the same cannot be said for Cristiano Ronaldo. Portugal have lofty ambitions in this tournament, and the 41-year-old is a key part of their plans, but he hasn’t lived up to expectations so far. That said, Cristiano will have a chance to rewrite the narrative in today’s game against Uzbekistan.

The ball came off an Uzbekistan player last and will count as an own goal. 4-0 Portugal.
