Bryan Reynolds was slated to start Friday’s game against the Colorado Rockies and bat third in the lineup, but was scratched less than an hour before first pitch. The reason for the removal was discomfort in his left groin. There’s been no mention of when or how the injury occurred.
Esmerlyn Valdez will replace Reynolds in left field and bat seventh in the batting order.
