Jon Moxley (c) vs. Shane Taylor – AEW Continental Championship match
The Death Riders and Shane Taylor Promotions crossed paths multiple times on Saturday’s edition of Collision. After Taylor won his singles match against Alan Angels, Taylor proclaimed that The Death Riders’ reign as the most violent group in AEW was coming to an end. Despite this, The Death Riders scored a victory over Shane Taylor Promotions in a Trios match. That wasn’t the end, however, as later in the show, Taylor would take out Wheeler Yuta backstage. This ongoing back and forth between the groups bring us to AEW Dynamite, where Taylor laid out the challenge to Moxley for his Continental Championship.
While Moxley has been in several Continental Classic Eliminator matches, this will only be his fourth title defense since winning it back on December 27 at Worlds End. In those defenses, Moxley has defeated Konosuke Takeshita, Will Ospreay, and Kyle O’Reilly. While I appreciate Taylor issuing the challenge, he’s not walking out with that title on Wednesday.

Swerve Strickland vs. Brody King – Owen Hart Foundation Semifinal
What I love about these tournaments is that I truly don’t know who’ll win. Pitting Strickland against King is not an easy call, and one that I’m truly split between. The winner of this match will go on to face Will Ospreay at AEW Forbidden Door at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, on June 28th. Strickland said on Collision that he’ll do anything necessary to win this match, and I believe that’ll be who will be victorious.
I’d be hyped for a Swerve and Ospreay match at Forbidden Door. These two have met in singles competition twice before, with one of them being at the 2024 Forbidden Door. Strickland defeated Ospreay, retaining his AEW World Title in the process. These two would meet again at the 2025 AEW Dynamite Summer Blockbuster event and went a full 30 minutes in a time limit draw. That’s where these two left off, at least from a singles competition. If you recall, they briefly teamed up after that, culminating in a win over The Young Bucks at AEW All In: Texas. Give me Round 3 for these two at Forbidden Door.
Swerve Strickland vs. Brody King Prediction: Swerve Strickland earns the victory
Skye Blue vs. Saree – Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament Quarterfinal
This match will serve as the AEW debut for Saree, who is known for her work in Japan. She has briefly appeared in Ring of Honor, where she worked a tag team match with Alex Windsor and then beat her in a singles match, defending the IWGP Women’s Title. While I personally have nothing against Skye Blue, I think it’s fair to say she’s not winning the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, and the reason she’s matched up against Saree is to take the loss. I feel quite confident awarding Saree the victory here.

PAC vs. Mark Briscoe – Singles Match
Briscoe has been a busy man lately and made his future intentions known last week; he wants another shot at MJF, this time for the AEW World Title. MJF wants no part of that and has denied Briscoe’s requests, but this is likely far from over. Because of that, we’ll likely see Briscoe go on a bit of a run to show that he’s more than ready to earn a World Title shot.
While I have no issue with that at all, I’d rather it not be at the detriment of PAC. I absolutely love his in-ring work, his cold character, everything about him. Whenever I think of his recent work, I always think about how awesome his feud with Darby Allin was, and that I wish PAC was treated on a higher level than he is. I’d love to see PAC go on a run and start running through guys on the mid-card and earning himself a title run. However, I don’t think we’re at that point currently. This will be the first singles match between PAC and Briscoe, who have been in the ring prior in a Trios match and the 2025 edition of Blood and Guts.
