Boston Red Sox team total over 4.5 runs (-115) vs. Chicago Cubs
Despite the Red Sox’s abysmal home record (9-20), I’m looking at them to put up some offense against the Orioles tonight. Chris Bassitt is taking the mound and brings an equally bad road record along with him. Through 21.1 innings, Bassitt carries an 8.02 ERA, a .434 wOBA, and four of the five home runs he’s allowed. The Red Sox, for as soft as their lineup looks, have been a very good hitting club against sinkers. Tonight’s expected lineup has a combined .355 wOBA with a .155 ISO against it. Once Bassitt departs, he’ll give way to an Orioles bullpen that’s been extremely inconsistent as of late. Over the past week, they’ve combined for a 5.74 ERA with an xERA of 5.37.
Bryce Harper 2+ Total Bases (+118) vs. San Diego Padres
Harper is hitting for a lot of power this season, as his .257 ISO is currently the highest season mark since 2021. This has been especially true at home, as nearly half of his 28 hits have gone for extra bases. Tonight, he’ll face Walker Buehler, who has a .354 wOBA when facing lefties. Buehler has been much worse on the road as well, posting an 8.04 ERA with a .395 wOBA and a 4.11 FIP. With Harper averaging 1.8 total bases per game, I’m more than willing to take this at +118

Michael Lorenzen under 15.5 outs recorded (-127) vs. Los Angeles Angels
If we were to lose this bet, that would mean that Lorenzen went at least 5.1 innings in this start. At least from what we’ve seen this season, that’s not something that occurs very often. He’s only reached 5.1 innings in four of his 12 starts this season, and hasn’t done so since April 30th. Since then, the deepest we’ve seen Lorenzen go in a start is five innings. While his 7.22 ERA is a bit inflated, his xERA of 5.88 and 5.06 FIP show that the majority of the damage done against him is warranted. Based on what we’ve seen this season, I’m banking on him going under this total once again.
