After a remarkable velocity drop on his fastball in the first inning of today’s start, Brewers’ starter Brandon Woodruff left the game with the team’s head trainer.
Though the coaches apparently were alarmed from the start, it wasn’t until the middle of the second inning when they officially pulled him from the game:
We’ll provide more updates on Woodruff’s status as it becomes clearer here, but a velocity drop of such magnitude isn’t usually a good sign for the pitchers’ throwing ligaments.
