The Boys Season 5 is about to reach its midpoint, with most of the setup taken care of and plenty of bonkers action still to come. Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s satirical take on superheroes has featured multiple surprise deaths and shocking twists through three episodes, all of which is par for the course with this show.

When does The Boys Season 5 Episode 4 come out?
Season 5 Episode 4 will premiere on Prime Video at 3 a.m. ET on Wednesday, April 22. The episode, which is titled Though the Heavens Fall, is expected to have a runtime around 1 hour.
The fifth season, like the previous four, will consist of eight episodes. The final five episodes will come out once a week until the series finale on May 20.

What to expect in The Boys Season 5 Episode 4
The Boys’ attempt on Soldier Boy’s life came up short after all, as his original dose of Compound V wasn’t quite as susceptible to Dr. Sameer’s virus. Knowing that Homelander would try to get to the V1 and make himself immune as well, the crew tracked down Stan Edgar. While Edgar didn’t know if any V1 existed, they sorted through some files and found that there might be some remaining samples at Fort Harmony in Pennsylvania. Translucent’s son, Maverick, turned on the Boys and Edgar as they were playing detective, ultimately getting caught in the crossfire in a fight between Hughie and Cindy.
The Deep brought Edgar back to Homelander, who just beat his son to near-death. Butcher found Ryan still breathing, so maybe he can become more of a team player moving forward. But since Zoe and her dad are out there, maybe Ryan will turn against Butcher again if they reveal who killed his crush’s mom. Starlight, meanwhile, ditched the Boys after Hughie flirted with death once again. Maybe she’ll meet up with the Guardians of Godolkin, since she already name-dropped Marie Moreau in Episode 3 and officially recruited them to the cause in Gen V Season 2.
Butcher, Ryan, the Gen V cast, Zoe, Kimiko and the rest of the Boys are fractured either physically or ideologically, so they aren’t exactly working from a position of strength at the moment. Frenchie also has to re-develop the virus that Sameer destroyed on his way out, which could take some time.

Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy is confirmed to be returning for the former.
