Darby Allin (c) vs. Tommaso Ciampa – AEW World Championship Match
I was wrong about how last week would play out, as Allin was able to not only defeat MJF for the AEW World Title, but did it quickly. After MJF tried to gain an early advantage by hitting Allin with a low blow, Allin would hit one of his own soon after. After hitting a Scorpion Death Drop, Allin would deliver a Coffin Drop four times, from each corner, on MJF to score the victory. This was the third time Allin had challenged for the AEW World Title, having lost in a street fight to Chris Jericho and in a singles match to Jon Moxley. But now, Allin can officially be called the AEW World Champion.
As for this match against Ciampa, I fully expect Allin to retain. Despite losing his TNT Championship only a few weeks after beating Mark Briscoe for it, Ciampa hasn’t lost any of his momentum. Ciampa hasn’t lost a singles match since the March 18 edition of Collision, a run of five matches. While he’s a great choice to challenge Allin, it is unfortunate that he’ll (likely) take the loss here. Even with Ciampa coming up short here, I do hope he remains in the mix for the TNT Championship, which was won by Kevin Knight at AEW Dynasty. Nonetheless, this should be a fantastic match against two strong talents.

Will Ospreay vs. Mark Davis – Singles Match
I got some pushback for predicting that Will Ospreay would lose against Jon Moxley at AEW Dynasty. I thought it was done extremely well, especially with how strong Ospreay came out in that match. He’s so hellbent on destroying Moxley that it proved to be his downfall. On last week’s Dynamite, Ospreay was able to defeat CMLL World Heavyweight Champion Hechicero in a non-title match. After the match, Davis came out to attack Ospreay and delivered a Close Your Eyes, which is certainly not great for Ospreay’s neck issues.
Ospreay should win this match and continue to run through whomever he faces over the next month or so. I love the idea that Ospreay will be able to defeat whoever is next in line, but he struggled to put away Moxley. I also liked the presence of Marina Shafir during his match last week against Hechicero, as it was a gentle reminder of his loss at AEW Dynasty.
Will Ospreay vs. Mark Davis Prediction: Ospreay earns the win over Davis
Mina Shirakawa vs. Hikaru Shida – Singles Match
Shida, who just recently returned to AEW after a long layoff, was in action on Thursday’s special edition of AEW Collision. Shida, alongside Kris Statlander, defeated Big Anne & Danika Della Rouge in tag team action. Later in the evening, Shirakawa confronted Shida in a backstage segment, saying that she saw Shida’s kendo stick, where Toni Storm was attacked weeks ago. Shirakawa said that Shida can’t be trusted and thus these two will fight on Wednesday’s Dynamite.
This will be the first time these two meet in a match of any kind in AEW, and the responses online have been met with a lot of excitement. I suspect we’re going to get a lot of these accusations over the course of 2026, with Shirakawa leading the charge. Storm is expected to miss the remainder of 2026, so I expect this storyline to continue with Shirakawa until that happens. I think she’ll pick up a win here, as it’ll represent her crossing off “suspects” on who attacked Storm.
