What happened to Mookie Betts? Live injury updates for Dodgers vs. Nationals on Saturday 4/4/26

Mookie Betts left the Dodgers’ matchup with the Nationals due to lower back pain. He was replaced by Miguel Rojas at shortstop in the bottom of the first, with the injury occurring after running from first base to home plate on a Freddie Freeman double.

Prior to exiting, Betts walked in his lone at-bat. The former MVP will be early exit eligible based on DraftKings protections.

Betts has gotten off to a bit of a slow start to the season, entering today with slash lines of .179/.258/.429 through his first seven games. More information will be added as it is made available by the team, and hopefully, this is not an injury that keeps him out long-term.

Rojas has a career .260/.313/.362 slash line and is in his fourth season with the Dodgers.
