What happened to Juan Soto? Live injury updates for Mets vs. Giants on Friday 4/3/26

Juan Soto was replaced in the first inning of Friday’s Mets vs. Giants game by Tyrone Taylor. Soto tweaked his calf after running from first to third, pulling up limp after his sprint.

Prior to exiting, Soto delivered a single in his only at-bat.

Obviously, it’s a huge blow to the Mets’ offense if Soto is out for an extended period of time. He’s batting second in the lineup with an exceedingly rare combination of power, speed and plate discipline. Last season, Soto hit 43 home runs and stole 38 bases while having a 17.8% walk rate, 19.2% strikeout rate and .262 ISO.

Tyrone Taylor has a career .237/.291/.413 slash with a 5% walk rate, 23% strikeout rate and .176 ISO.
