Michael B. Jordan won Best Actor for playing identical twins, Smoke and Stack, in Ryan Coogler’s Sinners. Not only is it his first Oscar win, but it was also his first nomination. The 39-year-old won at SAG’s Actor Awards, as well. Jordan had collaborated with director Ryan Coogler before in Fruitvale Station, Creed and Black Panther, the latter of which was a Best Picture nominee back in 2019. Now, Jordan is an Oscar-winner.
Jordan became the sixth Black man to win Best Actor at the Oscars. Sidney Poitier, Denzel Washington, Jamie Foxx, Forest Whitaker and Will Smith make up the rest of that exclusive club.
