The 2026 National Invitation Tournament bracket will be revealed today, Sunday, March 15. The 32-team field for the NIT will be announced at 9:30 p.m. ET on social media. This announcement will come after the NCAA Men’s and Women’s March Madness brackets are official.
Six teams have already received bids to the 2026 NIT: Belmont, Liberty, University of North Carolina Wilmington, Navy, South Alabama, and Stephen F. Austin. The first round of the NIT begins on March 17, culminating with the Semifinals on April 2 and the Championship on April 5.

The 2026 National Invitation Tournament will be airing on the ESPN family of networks. This is the 88th year the NIT is taking place, and it is the first time the NIT Championship will be held during the Final Four weekend. After the 68-team NCAA field is announced, teams will begin to be invited to the NIT. Each of the top 12 conferences on KenPom will receive an exempt bid with the highest-ranked team from each conference.
