Fallout’s second season premiered to plenty of fanfare back in December. The adaptation of the blockbuster video game franchise has been humming so far, bringing us to the midpoint of the season.
If you are fully bought-in heading into the home stretch, here is everything you need to know heading into season 2, episode 5:
When does Fallout S2E5 come out?
After dropping all eight episodes of season 1 at once, Prime Video has pivoted to weekly releases for season 2. And despite routinely leaning on three-episode premieres for The Boys, Gen V, Invincible and their other blockbuster shows, Prime Video went with a one-episode premiere for Fallout season 2.
Season 2, episode 5 will drop on Wednesday, January 14 at 3 a.m. ET. The episode will likely have a runtime of around one hour.

Who will show up in this episode?
Different characters and plot lines have been omitted in different episodes so far. Hank hasn’t shown up since episode 3. The Brotherhood didn’t make an appearance in the season premiere, while episode 2 didn’t feature any flashbacks to Cooper and Barb. That being said, here is a list of the actors and characters who could pop up in episode 5:

It seems like Macaulay Culkin’s Lacerta Legate and Kumail Nanjiani’s Paladin Xander Harkness did die at the end of episode 3, after all, so they probably won’t be back. The Yosemite and Coronado Elders also appeared to kick the bucket in episode 4, but Elder Quintus is still out there as far as we know.
What to expect in Fallout S2E5
The Ghoul and Lucy finally made it to Las Vegas in episode 4, but their welcome was not the one they expected. The Kings – a gang of Elvis impersonators from the game – had become ghoulified, and there wasn’t much other commotion upon their arrival. After wiping out the Kings, the duo stumbled upon a Deathclaw, which Cooper already came face-to-face with on the Alaskan Front while fighting China. While the Ghoul has shrugged off almost every issue or monster in the Mojave Wasteland, it seems like he is still traumatized by the giant monstrous reptile. The preview for episode 5 shows the Ghoul and Lucy exploring a more populated area of Vegas, but it is unclear how they will get past the Deathclaw.
Down at Area 51, the Brotherhood is officially at war with itself. Maximus didn’t follow through on his mission to kill Elder Quintus, but the other elders turned on each other trying to curry favor with the Commonwealth. Dane stayed behind after giving Maximus a cold fusion device, while Maximus fled the skirmish with Thaddeus. Going by real-world measurements, Area 51 is less than 100 miles away from Las Vegas, so perhaps their storyline could intersect with the Ghoul and Lucy’s in the coming weeks.
Although we didn’t get a ton of time with Norm and the thawed Vault 31 residents in episode 4, he seems to be losing control of the group to Ronnie – Bud’s old personal assistant. Ronnie mentioned that he knows phase two of the plan with Vaults 32 and 33, leaving Norm in the dark. He also brought up Future Enterprise Ventures, which some fans have theorized is alluding to the Forced Evolutionary Virus from the games. Given the rising tensions and paranoia in Vaults 32 and 33, phase two could play out sooner rather than later.
