Fallout is back on Amazon Prime Video, with season 2 premiering back in December. The adaptation of the blockbuster video game franchise is carrying over into the New Year, and the season is about to hit its midpoint.
If you want to keep up with Fallout into 2026, here is everything you need to know heading into season 2, episode 4:
When does Fallout S2E4 come out?
After dropping all eight episodes of season 1 at once, Prime Video has pivoted to weekly releases for season 2. And despite routinely leaning on three-episode premieres for The Boys, Gen V, Invincible and their other blockbuster shows, Prime Video went with a one-episode premiere for Fallout season 2.
Season 2, episode 4 will drop on Wednesday, January 7 at 3 a.m. ET. The episode will likely have a runtime of around one hour.

Who will show up in this episode?
Different characters and plot lines have been omitted in different episodes. Last week, Hank didn’t show up, nor did the vault dwellers from 31, 32 and 33. The Brotherhood didn’t make an appearance in the season premiere, while episode 2 didn’t feature any flashbacks to Cooper and Barb. That being said, here is a list of the actors and characters who could pop up in episode 4:

It is unclear whether or not Macaulay Culkin’s Lacerta Legate survived the battle between the Legion factions. The same goes for Kumail Nanjiani’s Paladin Xander Harkness, who Maximus appeared to take out at the end of episode 3.
What to expect in Fallout S2E4
The Ghoul successfully sprung Lucy from the Legion, who did not seem to appreciate her Golden Rule based around kindness. But after selling out the two New California Republic rangers he found in the wasteland, the Ghoul blew up the Legion camp and broke the stalemate between the two dueling sides. The Legion already had two competing Caesars with seemingly far less reach than they had in the Fallout: New Vegas game, so there is no guarantee that the remaining forces have a part to play moving forward this season. As for what Lucy took away, her failures to reason with the Legion may start to sway her from her more altruistic mindset as they approach Vegas.
Maximus, meanwhile, may have started a war when he killed Xander, who was about to wipe out a group of ghoul kids. The preview for episode 4 shows Thaddeus, a former squire turned ghoul, impersonating Xander in his armor back in Area 51. Maximus seemingly confesses to Dane, though, who is convinced that the Commonwealth will retaliate.
Norm and Bud’s buds will be making their way through southern California, maybe looking for a way into Vault 32 or 33 from the surface. We also got a glimpse of a pre-Ghoulified Cooper in power armor fighting some kind of monster. It is unclear if that will be part of a movie he was filming pre-war, or if he actually saw combat in one of the robo-suits during his time in the Marines.
