Heading into Week 14 of the 2025 NFL season, workloads, snap shares and more trends have been established across the league’s backfields. The fantasy RB landscape hasn’t played out as expected due to injuries, leaving fantasy managers with plenty of tough decisions to make. With that in mind, let’s break down my fantasy football RB start/sit Week 14 picks.

Start ‘Em: Kyle Monangai (Chicago Bears) at Green Bay Packers
As it turns out, there are more than enough carries to go around in Chicago!
The Bears pounded the rock again and again and again in their Black Friday upset win over Philly. D’Andre Swift put up big numbers in his personal revenge game, but it was the rookie who led the way. Monangai rushed 22 times for 130 yards and a touchdown, finishing with 19 fantasy points.
This was the fourth straight game with a touchdown for the Rutgers product, and it sure looks like he’s on his way to taking over the backfield sooner rather than later. Both Monangai and Swift are worthwhile starting options against Green Bay, with each back holding RB2 value and significant upside. If you have them, start them.

Sit’ Em: Kareem Hunt (Kansas City Chiefs) vs. Houston Texans
In Isiah Pacheco’s absence, Hunt provided weekly high-end RB2 value for the Chiefs. The veteran is by no means an explosive playmaker anymore at this stage of his career, but he’s a steady, dependable option. In Pacheco’s first game returning from injury, Hunt remained the top back, but his production and usage tapered off a bit.
As the Chiefs work Pacheco back into the mix, I expect those developments to continue. Hunt failed to find the end zone for the first time in five weeks against Dallas, and finished with fewer than 10 fantasy points as a result. It’s safe to assume that Pacheco is going to earn more than five touches this Sunday, and it’s possible he returns to his typical lead back role entirely, leaving Hunt with 3rd down duties.
Another massive factor not yet mentioned is the matchup. Houston surrenders the fourth-fewest rushing yards per game, setting the stage for a dud one way or another for Hunt.

Start ‘Em: RJ Harvey (Denver Broncos) at Las Vegas Raiders
Harvey underwhelmed in his first opportunity as the lead back in Denver with J.K. Dobbins sidelined, rushing 11 times for 30 yards. He picked up some PPR value with three catches, but still finished with just eight fantasy points.
Coming out of the bye, fantasy managers were eager to see how Harvey would look with a full two weeks to gameplan around him. From a statistical standpoint, the answer was… iffy. The rookie still struggled mightily with efficiency on the ground, but once again played a solid role in the passing game.
What really made the difference was the two touchdowns Harvey scored, bumping his total on the day to 21.2 points. With that volume and those scoring opportunities, Harvey checks in as a high-end RB2 against a mediocre Raiders run defense.
Sit ‘Em: David Montgomery (Detroit Lions) vs. Dallas Cowboys
Coming into the season, I didn’t expect to become the conductor of the “sit David Montgomery” train. Unfortunately, here we are.
It isn’t even his fault, either.
Montgomery is still averaging a strong 4.4 yards per carry. He just isn’t getting enough of them. The Lions have given the veteran 10 or fewer touches in three straight games now. His snap share remained below 40% in all of those contests. After years of dominating alongside each other, Montgomery has finally taken a back seat to the Jahmyr Gibbs show.
So, if you start Montgomery, you need him to score. That’s not a game I want to play against a Cowboys defense that has allowed the second-fewest rushing yards per game over the last three weeks.
