The final week in most 2025 fantasy football regular seasons has arrived! Countless fantasy managers are in must-win territory to make the playoffs, making this my most important round of picks yet. After 13 weeks, workloads, target shares, and other general trends have been established across the league. With all of that in mind, let’s break down my start/sit Week 14 fantasy football picks.
Quarterbacks
Start ‘Em: Jacoby Brissett (Arizona Cardinals) vs. Los Angeles Rams
After he was benched for a rookie Drake Maye six weeks into the 2024 NFL season, it was fair to wonder if Jacoby Brissett would ever get another real opportunity to start. Exactly one year later, he did more than just answer that question, he made a statement.
Brissett has been unfathomably good for Arizona since taking over in Kyler Murray’s absence. The veteran has amassed at least 18 fantasy points in all seven of his starts. He’s scored a combined 14 touchdowns, compared to only four interceptions. To put it bluntly, Brissett has made the Cardinals’ offense far better than anything they saw with Murray under center.
This week, Arizona draws a tricky matchup against the Rams. However, if anything that will just provide Brissett with the game script he needs to throw 45-plus times. The 32-year-old journeyman has already set the NFL single-game completions record this year, so it’s safe to assume the Cardinals will allow him to keep airing it out. Fire up Brissett as a solid QB1 in Week 14.
Sit ‘Em: Baker Mayfield (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) vs. New Orleans Saints
A campaign in which Mayfield was arguably the MVP favorite after six weeks has taken a sharp turn downhill. Make no mistake, the Buccaneers are still first in the AFC South thanks to their signal caller, but Baker’s production has fallen off due to a myriad of injuries and tough outings.
Whether it’s his offensive line, receivers, or even himself, someone is always banged up in Tampa Bay. Mayfield has now failed to score 15 fantasy points in three of his last five outings. He’s coming off an uninspiring performance against Arizona, making it the third straight contest he threw for fewer than 200 yards in.
Even with Tampa’s receiving corps getting healthier, it’s just not worth the risk right now. Mayfield has shown a brutally low fantasy floor time and time again. Pivot to another option with hope that you can turn back to him in the fantasy playoffs.
Running Backs
Start ‘Em: RJ Harvey (Denver Broncos) at Las Vegas Raiders
Harvey underwhelmed in his first opportunity as the lead back for Denver with J.K. Dobbins sidelined, rushing 11 times for 30 yards. He picked up some PPR value with three catches, but still finished with just eight fantasy points.
Coming out of the bye, fantasy managers were eager to see how Harvey would look with a full two weeks to gameplan around him. From a statistical standpoint, the answer was… iffy. The rookie still struggled mightily with efficiency on the ground, but once again played a solid role in the passing game.
What really made the difference was the two touchdowns Harvey scored, bumping his total on the day to 21.2 points. With that volume and those scoring opportunities, Harvey checks in as a high-end RB2 against a mediocre Raiders run defense.
Sit ‘Em: David Montgomery (Detroit Lions) vs. Dallas Cowboys
Coming into the season, I didn’t expect to become the conductor of the “sit David Montgomery” train. Unfortunately, here we are.
It isn’t even his fault, either.
Montgomery is still averaging a strong 4.4 yards per carry. He just isn’t getting enough of them. The Lions have given the veteran 10 or fewer touches in three straight games now. His snap share remained below 40% in all of those contests. After years of dominating alongside each other, Montgomery has finally taken a back seat to the Jahmyr Gibbs show.
So, if you start Montgomery, you need him to score. That’s not a game I want to play against a Cowboys defense that has allowed the second-fewest rushing yards per game over the last three weeks.

Wide Receivers
Start ‘Em: Jakobi Meyers (Jacksonville Jaguars) vs. Indianapolis Colts
Move over Brian Thomas, there’s a new WR1 in town.
In Thomas’ return to action, it was Meyers, not him, who paced the Jaguars’ passing attack. The seventh-year receiver has quickly become a reliable target for Trevor Lawrence. Meyers has scored in back-to-back games, and just racked up 90 yards on six catches against Tennessee.
This week, the elite route technician will look to keep the momentum rolling against Indy. The Colts allow the ninth-most fantasy points to receivers and sixth-most passing yards per game, setting the stage for another borderline WR1 performance from Meyers.
Sit ‘Em: DK Metcalf (Pittsburgh Steelers) at Baltimore Ravens
I don’t care what anyone else says, the start to DK Metcalf’s tenure in Pittsburgh has been a monumental letdown. Yes, the 6-4, 230-pound receiver has scored five times, but that’s what you expect him to do.
Metcalf hasn’t caught more than five balls in a game this year, eclipsing 100 yards just once. As of late, it’s been a complete disaster for the man who is supposed to be Aaron Rodgers’ top target. DK has scored fewer than 10 points in four of his last five outings, and a large factor in those shortcomings is the fact that he hasn’t found the end zone at all over that stretch.
This week, Metcalf draws a matchup against Baltimore that won’t be as easy as it looks on paper. The Ravens have surrendered just 185.7 passing yards per game over their last three weeks and only two touchdowns to receivers over their last four matchups. In a must-win matchup for many people, I would fade Metcalf.

Tight Ends
Start ‘Em: Brenton Strange (Jacksonville Jaguars) vs. Indianapolis Colts
Yes, you read that correctly. Not one, but two players catching passes from Trevor Lawrence are among my starts of the week. That definitely isn’t a sentence I expected to be writing heading into the season.
That said, you can’t argue with Strange’s numbers since returning from IR. The third-year tight end has show an ability to garner elite production whether he finds the end zone or not. In Week 12, he racked up five catches for 93 yards. In Jacksonville’s most recent outing, he caught three balls for 45 yards but scored.
Two games, two 13-plus point performances. In a field as shallow as tight end, that’s enough to fire Strange up as a top-seven option at the position. The dynamic receiving threat has picked up right where he left off before the injury, and that should remain the case against Indianapolis.
Sit ‘Em: Oronde Gadsden II (Los Angeles Chargers) vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Just four weeks ago, Gadsden looked to have emerged as a set-and-forget weekly starter. Flash forward to current day, and it’s hard to justify putting him in your lineup ahead of Monday night’s tilt.
The rookie has scored fewer than seven fantasy points in three straight outings. While he at least saw a decent target share in two of those games, that wasn’t the case in Week 13. Gadsden played just 70% of offensive snaps and only earned two targets, catching one of them for 27 yards.
The status of Justin Herbert is obviously a massive factor as he attempts to play through a left hand fracture. However, even if Herbert suits up, I would still sit Gadsden against an Eagles defense that has allowed fewer than nine fantasy points per game to tight ends.
