In the third inning of Friday’s game, Josh Naylor tweaked something in the abdomen region after stealing second base.

He stayed in the game but then was pinch hit for in the fifth inning by Mitch Garver.

Prior to exiting, Naylor went 1-for-2 with a strikeout and a stolen base.

On the season, Naylor is slashing .294/.353/.462 with 20 home runs, 81 runs, 92 RBIs and 30 stolen bases in 602 plate appearances. The walk rate is 8%, strikeout rate is 13.6% and the ISO is as healthy .168. He was often batting cleanup for the Mariners.

With Seattle having already clinched the AL West crown, it’s likely that Naylor will be out for both games this weekend.

Luke Raley has played first base 29 times this season and he would likely be the one to fill in for Naylor this weekend. Raley is slashing .203/.324/.314 with four home runs, 23 runs, 19 RBIs and two stolen bases in 207 plate appearances. The walk rate is 9.2%, but the strikeout rate is 28% with a paltry .110 ISO.
