Gen V exploded onto the scene two years ago, more than justifying the existence of a The Boys spinoff. The show has officially returned for its second season, with its classic TV-MA blend front and center once again.
As you carve out time to watch Gen V this week, here is everything you need to know in the lead-up to season 2, episode 4.
When does Gen V S2E4 come out?
Episode 4 of season 2 of Gen V will be released on the Amazon Prime Video streaming service on Wednesday, September 24.
The latest episode, titled “Bags,” is expected to have a runtime around 50 minutes. That includes the end credits and preview of the following episode, which typically account for four of those minutes.

Who will show up in this episode?
A handful of new supes have joined the cast of Gen V, both as part of the student body and the faculty. Here is the unofficial cast list for season 2, episode 4:

Chance Perdomo, who played Andre Anderson in season 1, died following a motorcycle accident in March 2024. His character’s death was written into the plot of the show, and the role was not recast.
It remains to be seen if Erin Moriarty’s Starlight, Chace Crawford’s The Deep or Valorie Curry’s Firecracker will continue to make cameo appearances moving forward. Antony Starr’s Homelander showed up in the season 1 finale, so he may fly by campus again in season 2.
What to expect in Gen V S2E4
In episode 3, Jordan moves up to No. 1 in the school-wide supe rankings. As a result, they get tons of perks and are chosen to make a speech on Thomas Godolkin Day. But after building a new bond with Sam and telling Marie that they love her, Jordan goes off-script and tells the world that Andre is dead. They also call out Vought for scapegoating and murdering innocent Starlighters, then takes responsibility for the attack that put Cate in a coma and robbed her of her powers. The crowd of students boos Jordan through it all, and it remains to be seen if Marie’s involvement will go public as well.
The preview for episode 4 shows Marie and Jordan fighting in a competition of some sort, organized by Cipher.
Marie’s search for her long-lost sister, Annabeth, may have to go on the back-burner amid the chaos, despite her progress. Her Aunt Pam secretly adopted Annabeth, but wants nothing to do with Marie. Aunt Pam did, however, reveal that Cipher was the doctor who delivered Marie as part of the Odessa Project.
Meanwhile, Emma tracked down a pair of secret Starlighters in Harper and Justin, and she is trying to get them to take even more radical action.

How does Gen V fit into The Boys universe?
Gen V season 1 ended with Homelander showing up to stop Cate and Sam’s attack on campus. But when Marie blows up Cate’s arm to save Jordan from getting mind controlled, Homelander accuses her attacking her own kind. While Marie, Emma, Andre and Jordan wake up in the Elmira Center, Vought positions Cate and Sam as the real heroes.
The supe-targeted virus discovered during Gen V season 1 played an integral part in The Boys season 4. Victoria Neuman had Dr. Sameer Shah running tests with it, but The Boys use the last remaining sample to escape from deadly farm animals. Butcher kidnaps Sameer and has him recreate the virus, then takes out Neuman and makes off with the new virus.
Meanwhile, the new President pledges allegiance to Homelander and declares martial law. Vought and The Seven, with Cate and Sam’s help, round up The Boys and their allies. Starlight and Butcher – who has the virus – are the only ones who escape.
Gen V season 2 takes place after The Boys season 4. The pro-supe, anti-human movement spills over into Gen V, making it tough for the so-called Guardians of Godolkin to rise up against Vought.
