Two years, eight months and two weeks after the premiere of season 1, Wednesday finally made its return in August. The viral hit from the mind of Tim Burton overcame the writers and actors strikes of 2023, Jenna Ortega’s jam-packed schedule and the ever-changing streaming landscape to make another big impact when season 2 began, topping the charts with 50 million views in its first week.
Netflix only released the first batch of episodes for the sequel to the Addams Family reimagining, however, leaving audiences on a cliffhanger for nearly a month. Here is everything you need to know before the rest of the season comes out:
When does Wednesday Season 2, Part 2 come out?
The rest of season 2 of Wednesday will be released on Netflix at 3 a.m. ET on Wednesday, September 3.
There are four episodes left in the season, bringing the full season to eight episodes. There are not runtimes publicly listed, but the first four episodes of season 2 were all roughly an hour long.

Christina Ricci’s Marilyn Thornhill and Thandiwe Newton’s Dr. Fairburn died in the midseason finale, adding to a body count that already included Jamie McShane’s Sheriff Galpin and Anthony Michael Hall’s Ron Kruger. Any character could come back, though, since Gwendoline Christie is set to return as a spirit version of Principal Larissa Weems after dying in season 1.
What to expect in the rest of Wednesday Season 2
Across the first four episodes of season 2, Wednesday, Uncle Fester, Enid and Agnes uncovered a secret plot to experiment on outcasts at Willow Hill Psychiatric Facility. Judi Stonehearst was behind it all, having been a subject of her father’s mad science as a child. But in discovering the killer avian, Wednesday accidentally allowed Tyler and Slurp to escape. The hyde and zombie wreaked havoc on their way out, with the former throwing Wednesday out a window and putting her in a coma.
Wednesday isn’t dead yet, but it remains to be seen if she will be able to use her psychic powers when she wakes up. There are also plenty of mysteries left to resolve around her ancestor Goody’s spell book, her Aunt Ophelia’s disappearance and where her Grandmama fits into it all. Larissa Weems is also stepping in as Wednesday’s new spirit guide, potentially helping her save Enid from her foretold death.
Principal Dort’s plans haven’t been revealed yet, either, but he could be after more than the Addams Family’s money. Then there is the side plot of Bianca helping her mother run away from the MorningSong cult, as well as the love triangle forming between Enid, Bruno and Ajax. That leaves plenty of opportunity for werewolves, psychics, sirens, hydes, gorgons, avians and pyrokinetics to create chaos in the next four episodes.

Will there be a Wednesday Season 3?
Wednesday was officially renewed for a third season before season 2 even premiered. Season 1 alone made Wednesday the most popular English-language TV show in Netflix history, after all, making it a seemingly easy decision for the streaming giant.
The series’ showrunner and co-creator, Alfred Gough, confirmed that there would be more Addams Family members showing up in season 3. That might be foreshadowing the arrival of Cousin Itt, the only core character who has yet to appear in Wednesday. But before the gibberish-speaking blob of hair joins the cast, there are still plenty of unresolved plot threads left to take care of in season 2.
