What happened to Jordan Westburg? Live injury updates for Orioles at Red Sox Monday 8/18/25

In the first inning of Monday’s game in Boston, Jordan Westburg grounded into a fielder’s choice. After rounding first base, he injured his ankle. Luis Vazquez was the substitute.

On the season, Westburg has racked up 303 plate appearances, producing 15 home runs, 53 runs, 34 RBI and a stolen base. The walk rate is 5%, strikeout rate is 21.8% and the ISO is .199. Westburg is slashing .277/.327/.475 and has been batting second in the lineup.

It will be interesting to see how the Orioles configure the lineup if Westburg is out for an extended period of time. Coby Mayo has manned third base three times this season. He has been playing first base, but Ryan Mountcastle could take over first base while Mayo slides to third.
