WATCH: Athletics 1B Nick Kurtz makes history Friday night vs. the Astros

It was a night to remember for Athletics rookie Nick Kurtz. The 22-year-old first baseman had himself one of the greatest games in the history of Major League Baseball on Friday vs. the Astros. Yes, you read that correctly.

Kurtz finished the game 6-for-6 with four home runs, eight RBIs and six runs scored. As ESPN’s Jeff Passan outlined below, no one in MLB history has ever produced a stat line like that. Kurtz’s 19 total bases also tied Shawn Green for the MLB single-game record as well.

Kurtz became just the 20th player in MLB history to hit four homers in a game. Watch his fourth below.

He’s now up to 23 home runs in just 243 at bats so far in 2025, all while batting .305 with a ridiculous 183 wRC+ and .440 wOBA. A true superstar.
