King of the Diamond is back again for Friday’s slate! Learn how the contest works, how to get in on it, and track leaders right up until we crown our winner(s). Here are some of our favorite home run props on the DraftKings Sportsbook.
How to Play King of the Diamond on DraftKings Sportsbook
King of the Diamond requires bettors to use a token on a pre-game parlay that must include a player to hit a home run. Same Game Parlays (SGP), SGPx and parlays are the eligible bet types. Whichever parlay form a bettor chooses must have 2-5 legs.
Any game that starts before 6 p.m. ET on the slated day will not be eligible for the King of the Diamond promotion. There is not an odds minimum. Unless using a boosted token, the bet minimum is $5.
The King (or kings) of the Diamond is decided based on the highest scoring team of the slated night. For example, suppose the Los Angeles Dodgers are the highest scoring team, and Shohei Ohtani hits a home run. In that case, all bettors who entered Ohtani to hit a home run in their eligible parlay and opted in to the contest will share in a $1 million prize pool.
The player only needs to hit one home run to qualify for a share of the prize pool. For example, if another Dodger hit two home runs and the Dodgers are the high scorers of the night, Ohtani still qualifies as the King of the Diamond. If two or more teams tie for the highest scoring team, all batters on those teams who hit home runs would qualify. For more on tiebreaker scenarios and eligible bets, refer to this article.
Update: 1:00 a.m. ET
No one from the night games reached the 12 runs that the Mariners put up, meaning they remain the highest scoring team on the evening.
This means that Julio Rodriguez and Cal Raleigh are your Kings of the Diamond for Friday’s slate!
Update: 11:47 p.m. ET
Things still look good for the Mariners. But watch out for the Toronto Blue Jays. With a six-run fifth inning, they’ve suddenly thrust themselves into the conversation. The biggest hit came off the bat of All-Star catcher Alejandro Kirk:
The Blue Jays may have five more runs to go, and no home runs. But they have four innings left against a subpar Athletics pitching staff. That gives them the best chance on the board. Don’t turn off the scoreboard just yet.

More final scores are coming in, and more confidence for our Mariners bettors. We’ve had no movement on the board from the three games we were watching closely. As things stand, Julio Rodríguez and Cal Raleigh will be the Kings of the Diamond this evening. We’ll keep you updated as the night winds down.

The final scores keep rolling in, and the Mariners’ chances look better and better. Six games are already in the books, with nine more ongoing. Let’s check in on who could catch Seattle.
The Rangers hold a 7-3 lead in the seventh inning. Four straight scoreless innings have left the Braves and Cardinals stuck at a 6-5 game. Our most promising prospect is the game between the Diamondbacks and Angels. They’re tied at 4-4 in the third inning. But don’t count out any miracles. The Mariners got here by way of a miracle, after all.

Whew, you wanna talk about a comeback. Out of nowhere, the Yankees have been unseated. The Seattle Mariners piled on seven runs in the top of the ninth inning. Of course, Cal Raleigh put the cherry on top.
With 12 runs, Seattle is now the top scorer on tonight’s slate. They got a home run from Julio Rodríguez and two from the Big Dumper, who entered rarified air tonight. With his 38th home run of the season, Raleigh is the second player in Major League Baseball history to hit 38 or more dingers before the All-Star break. The only other is named Barry Lamar Bonds.
The mark has been set. Let’s see if anyone can catch the Mariners tonight.
Update: 9:37 p.m. ET
Well, Cody Bellinger finally got his. After being robbed of his third home run earlier tonight, the Yankees outfielder got his lick back in the bottom of the eighth. It’s a sweet revenge game for Cody after the Cubs dumped him in the offseason.
New York is the first team to reach double digits on the board. As their only home-run hitter on the night, the crown is there for Bellinger’s taking. He needs to hope that eleven runs will be enough as there are some strong challengers on the board.
The Brewers have seven runs through five innings with one home run from Christian Yelich. Rangers/Astros and Braves/Cardinals have the makings of high-scoring contests. We’re in for an exciting stretch run as the night slate is about to begin.
Update: 9:09 p.m. ET
A new challenger enters the arena. The Milwaukee Brewers managed a six-run bottom of the third inning, all capped off by a Christian Yelich two-run bomb:
They briefly tied things up with the New York Yankees but the Bronx Bombers continued to rally in the seventh inning, putting up two more runs to go up 8-0. It could have been more, as Cody Bellinger was robbed of his third home run of the night.
It’s a strong lead for New York, but time is winding down in this game. A two-run lead over the field may not be enough. Stay tuned to find out.

Different pitcher, same result. Cody Bellinger decided it’s time for the Yankees to take the lead on tonight’s scoreboard, hitting his second two-run homerun of the night:
The Bronx Bombers now have the outright lead on our scoreboard, which would make Bellinger our kind of the diamond. But there are plenty of challengers waiting around. That now includes the Seattle Mariners, who got a huge boost from their All-Star slugger Julio Rodríguez:
Who would have guessed a team hitting against Tarik Skubal would be in the mix? Seattle is one of three teams sitting at four runs, with the Rays and the Orioles. It looks like we’re going to have an exciting night on our hands.
Update: 8:20 p.m. ET
To the surprise of nobody, the Tampa Bay Rays are piling on runs. Baseball’s hottest offense is at it again, scoring three runs in the top of the third inning to take a 4-1 lead. That ties them with the Orioles as the highest-scoring team at the moment.
However, that lead doesn’t seem likely to last. The Atlanta Braves are off to a hot start, putting up three runs in the top of the first inning. Catcher Sean Murphy, a trade deadline name to watch, raised his stock with a monster two-run shot.
Tampa and Baltimore have scored the most runs, but have no home runs. So, for now, the Yankees and Cody Bellinger are tied with Murphy and the Atlanta Braves.
Update: 7:58 p.m. ET
The Baltimore Orioles might be on a mission tonight. Not only are they trying to destroy the Marlins on the scoreboard, they’re looking to nuke Edward Cabrera’s trade value. Through three innings, they have piled up seven hits and four runs, and lead our scoreboard.
But the New York Yankees aren’t far behind. Friday’s game had the feel of a pitcher’s duel in Yankee Stadium, with All-Star Carlos Rodón going up against the surprisingly robust Chris Flexen. That all came apart in the third inning at the hands of former Cub Cody Bellinger:
For our purposes, that makes New York the highest-scoring team on the board. Don’t change the channel as the runs start to pile up.
Update: 7:25 p.m. ET
Our first teams are on the board shortly after first pitch. Two AL East squads, regulars in this competition, tallied runs in the first inning. The Orioles put a two spot on the Miami Marlins, capped off by this double from All-Star Ryan O’Hearn:
The Tampa Bay Rays also managed to score in the first inning, getting an RBI single from one of their own All-Stars, Junior Caminero. Of the ten teams currently playing, those are the only two with tallies on the scorecard. Stick with us for updates as the fixtures come in fast.
