What happened to Zach Eflin? Live injury updates for Orioles vs. Rays Saturday 6/28/25

After pitching just one inning against the Rays on Saturday, Zach Eflin was replaced by Scott Blewett. The team announced that the righty was dealing with an injury and exited the game with lower back tightness.

The Rays roughed Eflin up, getting four runs off him on five hits, highlighted by this moon shot from Jonathan Aranda.

Eflin’s ERA rose to 5.95 with the rough outing while his FIP climbed to 5.71.

After the game, the team will likely have an update on Eflin’s status. He has been limited to 12 games this season due to injury, and the 31-year-old righty is likely at least in danger of missing his next start, which is currently on track to come against the Braves on Friday.
