Prediction, pick for Jake Paul vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr

One of boxing’s biggest stars returns tonight as Jake Paul faces former WBC Middleweight Champion Julio Chavez Jr. Paul has won four straight bouts since losing his first fight to Tommy Fury in February 2023. Chavez has won his last two fights, but hasn’t been very active in the previous four years.

Here is my best bet for Saturday’s Paul vs. Chavez boxing matchup on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Jake Paul by KO/TKO/DQ (+165)

After fighting Mike Tyson in November at Heavyweight, “The Problem Child” is back at Cruiserweight to make a run at gold. Paul is 11-1 with seven knockouts, and has won back-to-back fights via decision for the first time in his career.

On DraftKings Sportsbook, Paul is a -575 favorite as Chavez is a +400 underdog. You can get Paul to win via KO/TKO/DQ at +165, which is intriguing since Paul is a knockout artist. In this fight, both fighters stand at 6’1″, but Paul has a three-inch reach advantage (76″ vs. 73″). Paul uses his athletic ability to control the distance while being the aggressor.

Even though it may seem like Paul is the one taking a big step up in competition, the opposite may be true for Chavez. That is because Chavez’s last fight was against former UFC fighter Uriah Hall, while Paul beat Tyson. With one of the best Cruiserweights in the world fighting in the co-main event, Paul knows a big performance is needed with many eyes on him.
