King of the Diamond is back again for Friday’s slate! Learn how the contest works, how to get in on it, and track leaders right up until we crown our winner(s). Here are some of our favorite home run props on the DraftKings Sportsbook.
How to Play King of the Diamond on DraftKings Sportsbook
King of the Diamond requires bettors to use a token on a pre-game parlay that must include a player to hit a home run. Same Game Parlays (SGP), SGPx and parlays are the eligible bet types. Whichever parlay form a bettor chooses must have 2-5 legs.
Any game that starts before 6 p.m. ET on the slated day will not be eligible for the King of the Diamond promotion. There is not an odds minimum. Unless using a boosted token, the bet minimum is $5.
The King (or kings) of the Diamond is decided based on the highest scoring team of the slated night. For example, suppose the Los Angeles Dodgers are the highest scoring team, and Shohei Ohtani hits a home run. In that case, all bettors who entered Ohtani to hit a home run in their eligible parlay and opted in to the contest will share in a $1 million prize pool.
The player only needs to hit one home run to qualify for a share of the prize pool. For example, if another Dodger hit two home runs and the Dodgers are the high scorers of the night, Ohtani still qualifies as the King of the Diamond. If two or more teams tie for the highest scoring team, all batters on those teams who hit home runs would qualify. For more on tiebreaker scenarios and eligible bets, refer to this article.
Update: 1:00 a.m. ET
As expected, no other team reached the 22 runs that the Orioles put up, making them the highest scoring team on the slate.
Gary Sanchez, Jackson Holliday and Gunnar Henderson each hit homers for Baltimore, making them your Kings of the Diamond for the June 27th slate!
Update: 11:28 p.m. ET
Almost an hour later, nobody is making up ground on the Orioles and their 22 runs. As the final scores continue to roll in, the Phillies remain the best shot at unseating the Birds. They are stuck at 11 runs through five innings.
Three more games are ongoing. The Mariners and Rangers are tied 6-6 in extra innings, the Angels lead the Nationals 9-8 in the sixth, and the Marlins lead the Diamondbacks 5-4 in the sixth. It would take one heck of a crooked inning for any of these teams to get in the running.
Since the Phillies lead 11-0, it’s possible the Braves roll out worse and worse pitchers, and eventually a position player. That could get the Phils into interesting territory. But, for now, Baltimore seems to be safe.
Update: 10:33 p.m. ET
Make it four innings in a row with three or more runs for the Baltimore Orioles. Most importantly, we have some new home run hitters. Jackson Holliday started things off with this opposite field shot:
Things look easy when hitting off a position player. Gunnar Henderson proved that with his first home run in over three weeks. They all count the same in the stat pages, whether you’re hitting off a pitcher or an infielder.
Then, with two outs, they rattled off four more. A two-run blast off the bat of Coby Mayo, followed a two-run double by Cedric Mullins. Not a bad time to get the first home run of your career.
That puts us at 22 runs. Any sane person would think that’s it, right? Right??
Well, the Philadelphia Phillies are at 11 runs in the third inning. I’m no math guy but it seems they’re on pace to come close, especially if some position players start throwing for Atlanta.
Coby Mayo, Jackson Holliday, Gunnar Henderson, and Gary Sanchez would all share the King of the Diamond crown if the Phillies can be stopped. But that’s no sure thing. Don’t start counting your money yet, home run slip holders.
Update: 10:06 p.m. ET
Baltimore refuses to stop. That’s three straight multi-run innings for the Orioles. They packed in four more as they continue to decimate this Tampa Bay bullpen.
Baltimore is up to 15 runs going into the eighth inning. As things, no other team has double-digits. It’s almost doubling up every team on the board at the moment. If you are a Gary Sanchez home run ticket holder, you’re probably squealing with excitement right now.
Update: 9:25 p.m. ET
The Orioles are taking their revenge on the Rays. After blowing an 8-0 lead a couple weeks ago against these same Rays, they’re putting the hurt on Tampa Bay after being down 6-0.
They’re up to 11 runs with no end in sight. Gary Sanchez is the lone home run hitter for Baltimore, and has driven in four total runs. The Orioles have a two-run cushion on the field tonight.
The Pirates are up to nine runs, but that game is in the eighth inning. Cincinnati remains at eight in the seventh inning. But keep an eye on the Brewers and Astros; they have six and seven runs, respectively, going into the fifth inning. Let’s see who can catch Baltimore, if anyone can.
Update: 8:57 p.m. ET
And just like that, the Rays have been unseated. Twice. The Pirates broke the Mets wide open in the sixth inning, putting Pittsburgh up 8-1. Bryan Reynolds, a trade deadline candidate, blasted one to right field:
The Rays were also unseated in their own game. Baltimore completed the comeback, putting up three runs in the fifth inning to take an 8-7 lead at home. Gary Sanchez put a bow on things with Baltimore’s first home run of the game.
And yes, a third team is up to eight runs. Spencer Steer rocked his third (!!!) home run of the night to put Cincinnati up 8-0 at home against the Padres. Who would have guessed that a team facing Dylan Cease would have eight runs through five innings.
That gives us three different teams at eight runs, all of which have at least one home run hitter. The Rays are still very much in the mix. We might have a banger of a night on our hands. Don’t change the channel now.
Update: 8:25 p.m. ET
The Rays stormed out of the gate, but don’t count out these Orioles. They have a penchant for big comebacks this year, and another may be on the cards. After Tampa Bay went up 6-0, the Orioles have fought back with five straight runs.
They don’t have a home run, so they’re not threatening the top of our leaderboard yet. But the runs can pile up quickly at Camden Yards. This one is worth keeping an eye on.
Elsewhere, the Pirates are also at five runs without a dinger. The Reds are at four runs on the back of two Spencer Steer solo shots. It’s a packed field in the three-run range. We’ll see who can pull ahead.
Update: 7:48 p.m. ET
The Tampa Bay Rays are doing their thing again. The hottest offense in baseball is bullying the Orioles at home. After two home runs in the third, Brandon Lowe decided to make things ugly:
Tampa holds a two-run lead on our scoreboard. The Pittsburgh Pirates had a four-run second inning, but have yet to hit a home run. The Cardinals also merit watching; home runs by Pedro Pagés and Alec Burleson put them up 3-0 in the third inning. Let’s see if the Rays will keep piling on.
Update: 7:30 p.m. ET
Our first home run of the night has left the ballpark. Jonathan Aranda is out to prove his likely All-Star snub will shame the rest of the major leagues, punching a majestic shot into the night against the Orioles in Camden Yards.
The Rays’ first baseman started the party, but they’re still going. Two batters later, Josh Lowe sent a second ball to right field and out of play.
It’s a tidy 2-0 lead for the Rays in the early going as they take pole position on our Friday slate. Could it be a second straight week of Tampa Bay being on top? Stick with us to find out.

Last King of the Diamond
Four players came out on top. Eugenio Suarez, Ildemaro Vargas, Ketel Marte, and Yandy Diaz claimed the last King of the Diamond competition. That gave 21,117 players each a $48 bonus bet!
