Deontay Wilder is back tonight and will face Tyrrell Herndon in a 10-round heavyweight bout. This event is in Wichita, Kansas, and is the former WBC Heavyweight Champion’s first fight since June 2024.

Here is my best bet for Friday’s Wilder vs. Herndon boxing matchup.

Deontay Wilder to Win In Rounds 1-2 (+100)

Wilder is a massive -1400 favorite on the moneyline while also -800 to win by KO/TKO/DQ on DraftKings Sportsbook. With Wilder being such a big favorite, let’s get creative.

Since Wilder’s 40th birthday is nearing, he knows that if he wants to have big fights again, a victory in spectacular fashion is necessary. Wilder is one of the best knockout artists in boxing and has won 42 of his 43 fights via knockout. His last win against Robert Helenius in October 2022 was a first-round knockout. Two of Wilder’s previous three victories have come via a first-round knockout.

You can get Wilder to beat Herndon in the first two rounds at +100 on DraftKings Sportsbook. Also, three of his last five wins have been first-round knockouts. Even though Wilder has lost two straight fights and four of his previous five, he is still one of the most powerful punchers in the sport.

After facing champions and top contenders, Wilder is taking a significant step down in competition. Wilder is two inches taller with a nine-inch reach advantage and has all the tools needed to get back on track against Herndon.
