Wyatt Langford Injury Update: Dealing with left side tightness

Updated:

By: Stan Son

UPDATE: Langford expected to return Saturday.

Wyatt Langford missed a few games last week due to back stiffness. He returned and played the last three games, but was given the day off on Wednesday against the Orioles. Initially, it was deemed as a maintenance day off, but it was later determined that Langford is now dealing with tightness in his left side.

Back in April, Langford missed a few weeks due to an oblique injury.

Langford has been batting second or third in the batting order while manning center and left field on defense. In 292 plate appearances, Langford has produced 13 home runs, 32 runs, 31 RBI and 11 stolen bases. He’s slashing .232/.308/.421 with a 9.6% walk rate, 26% strikeout rate and .189 ISO.

On Wednesday, Evan Carter played center field and batted sixth while Alejandro Osuna manned left field and hit ninth.
