In the top of the fourth inning of Monday’s game between the Washington Nationals and San Diego Padres, Keibert Ruiz was hit in the head while in the dugout by a foul ball. Riley Adams has replaced him.

Prior to exiting, Ruiz went 0-for-1.

In 258 plate appearances, Ruiz is slashing .248/.279/.321 with a 3.1% walk rate, 9.3% strikeout rate and paltry .073 ISO. He has two home runs, 19 runs and 24 RBI on the season.

Riley Adams has accrued 60 plate appearances this season and hit three home runs. The walk rate is 1.7%, though, with a 41.7% strikeout rate.
