Paige Bueckers is on an absolute tear for the Dallas Wings. She’s all but locked up an All-Star appearance in her first WNBA season, and is just getting started.
The No. 1 pick had a rocky first few games to the year. But over her last five, Paige is averaging 22.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 2.0 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game. That’s incredible production for a player working on 11 career games. Her stellar early play has seemingly sewn up the WNBA Rookie of the Year award.
But the Atlanta Dream won’t care about that. At 10-4, Atlanta boasts one of the best defenses in the league. As if Brittney Griner wasn’t enough, Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray are formidable backcourt defenders. Their blend of size and athleticism creates problems for any perimeter creator. Bueckers will have work to do to keep her hot streak going.
The Dream are 7.5-point favorites on the road and are -395 on the moneyline on DraftKings Sportsbook. The total is set at 168.5 points. Let’s look at the best bets and predictions for this contest.
Best Paige Bueckers Prop Bets
Under 18.5 Points Scored (-120)
Atlanta poses a major threat to Bueckers in this game. Both Rhyne and Allisha will get lots of time guarding the rookie phenom. Even if the two are off the court, Jordin Canada is no slouch defensively.
Bueckers has exceeded this mark in four of the last five games and will do so in most games. I do not doubt her abilities as a high-level offensive engine. But this Atlanta Dream team is very well set up to contain her, and I expect them to do so. There will be a lot of absurd scoring nights from Bueckers in the near and distant future; don’t expect one Tuesday.
