Paige Bueckers is on an absolute tear for the Dallas Wings. She’s all but locked up an All-Star appearance in her first WNBA season, and is just getting started.
The No. 1 pick had a rocky first few games to the year. But over her last five, Paige is averaging 22.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 2.0 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game. That’s incredible production for a player working on 11 career games. Her stellar early play has seemingly sewn up the WNBA Rookie of the Year award.
But the Atlanta Dream won’t care about that. At 10-4, Atlanta boasts one of the best defenses in the league. As if Brittney Griner wasn’t enough, Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray are formidable backcourt defenders. Their blend of size and athleticism creates problems for any perimeter creator. Bueckers will have work to do to keep her hot streak going.
