Red Sox OF Jarren Duran ejected vs. Giants Sunday 6/22/25

In the top of the eighth inning of Sunday’s game against the San Francisco Giants, Jarren Duran roped a ball into right field. Not content with just a single, Duran raced to second base and got in ahead of the throw. Unfortunately, he overslid second base and was called out when he tried to re-touch the bag.

Replays showed that he was able to touch the base before Willy Adames was able to apply the tag. After a challenge by the Red Sox, the replay officials disagreed, though, and Duran was still called out. Incensed, Duran began yelling towards the umpires and was eventually ejected from the game. Manager Alex Cora then rushed out, conversed with the umpires and was also ejected.

Prior to exiting, Duran went 1-for-4. Marcelo Mayer replaced Duran.
