The Mets are in Denver to take on the Rockies in the second game of their three-game set at Coors Field. It took a while for the Mets’ bats to get going on Friday night, but they rallied to win 4-2 after a two-run, pinch-hit double from Francisco Lindor (toe). Pete Alonso stayed hot in that win, and the polar bear is in a great spot tonight at Coors in a very favorable matchup. Let’s take a look at my top player prop bet for Pete Alonso this Saturday night.
The win improved Alonso’s Mets to 40-24 on the season while dropping the woeful Rockies to 12-51 overall and 6-23 at home. In this game, the Mets are heavy favorites at -494 on the Moneyline with a game total of 11 combined runs.
Here’s my top Pete Alonso prop bet for Saturday’s matchup against Carson Palmquist.
Pete Alonso 4+ Total Bases (+190)
Alonso has been absolutely crushing everything lately, and I already included him in both my top DFS picks and my top home run props for the day. For this post, though, I’m highlighting another prop that I really like at +190 odds. This is slightly lower than his +250 listing to hit a home run since there are more paths to victory with this prop, which still almost triples your investment.
In his last 11 games, Alonso has a total of 32 total bases and has at least four total bases in four of those games. He is hitting .333 in those 10 games with five home runs, a .518 wOBA, a 50% hard-hit rate and a 28.1% barrel rate.
Alonso gets a very favorable matchup against Carson Palmquist, who has an 8.50 ERA, 6.24 FIP, and 40.3% hard-hit rate in his four starts. The lefty has let righties like Alonso hit .333 with a double and a home run in his limited action in the majors this season.
The Rockies’ bullpen is also a very favorable matchup for Alonso if he doesn’t get to his four total bases before Palmquist departs.
The matchup and environment should be perfect for Alonso to keep crushing, and I like his chances to get to four total bases in what I think will be a high-scoring game for the Mets.
