Major League Baseball has a busy Saturday lined up, building up to a big five-game slate under the lights. The first two of the five games begin at 7:35 p.m. ET when the Red Sox visit the Yankees and the Brewers welcome in the Padres in a pair of potential playoff previews. At around 9:30 p.m. ET, two more games get underway in Denver and Anaheim, and the last game of the slate starts in Sacramento at 10:05 p.m. ET. With 10 teams of players in the pool, let’s take a look at some of the top MLB DFS picks for this Saturday night.
While the weather can often be a concern at this time of year, the five games on Saturday night look like they’ll avoid any precipitation. The slate features very hitter-friendly parks at Coors Field and Sutter Health Park, along with a fascinating pitching matchup in the Bronx that should make for an exciting evening of baseball.

PITCHER
Stud
Garrett Crochet, Boston Red Sox at New York Yankees, $11,000: Crochet is the most expensive pitcher on the slate by a wide margin, but he has been outstanding this season and good enough to use despite his tough matchup against the Yankees. It will be a fascinating matchup against Ryan Yarbrough ($8,500), as the fire-balling Crochet takes on the soft-tossing lefty, who has been excellent lately.
Crochet has such a high ceiling, though, due to his strikeout upside, that he’s the top stud option to build around. He is averaging 24.5 fantasy points per start this season with a 5-4 record, 1.98 ERA, 2.67 FIP and 30.9% strikeout rate. Over his 82 innings, he has racked up 101 strikeouts after posting back-to-back games with double-digit strikeouts on the road against the Brewers and Braves to earn 28.8 and 37.6 fantasy points.
He has only allowed 10 total runs in his last seven starts, with two runs or fewer in each outing. Even though the Yankees definitely have the potential to reach him for a few runs, his strikeout potential will likely compensate. Crochet has had strong games against good offenses, and he’ll look to get another big victory in his first taste of the Yankees-Red Sox rivalry.

Charlie Morton, Baltimore Orioles at Athletics, $6,000: Morton was one of the Orioles’ few offseason additions to their rotation, but the veteran 41-year-old righty was a disaster early in the year. He went 0-5 in his first five starts with a 10.89 ERA, 6.51 FIP and 2.23 WHIP. Morton lost his spot in the rotation but figured things out in the bullpen. In his last five games (two starts), he is 2-0 with a 1.64 ERA, 2.89 FIP and 0.86 WHIP.
His last two starts were both at home, earning 19.3 fantasy points against the Cardinals, followed by 28.8 fantasy points against the White Sox. Last Sunday, he only gave up six hits and one walk over 6 2/3 innings with seven strikeouts against Chicago.
Against the A’s in a hitter-friendly environment (more below), Morton is high-risk, but at only $6,000, he has a high enough ceiling to be worth taking a shot on. The rest of the cheap options all come with major red flags of their own, so Morton makes sense as a SP2 if you want to go cheap.
INFIELD
Stud
Pete Alonso, New York Mets at Colorado Rockies, $5,700: Alonso is a great pay-up play to build around at Coors Field against Carson Palmquist ($5,000). Alonso had 15 fantasy points in Friday’s win over the Rockies and has at least 12 fantasy points in five of his last six.
He has hit safely in 12 of his 13 games, going 17-for-50 (.340) with four doubles, six homers and a .501 wOBA. In those 13 contests, Alonso has a 45.0% hard-hit rate with an impressive 25% barrel rate. He has averaged 13 fantasy points over that span and should be in a smash spot against Palmquist, who has an 8.50 ERA, 6.24 FIP and 1.83 WHIP in his four MLB starts.

Jacob Wilson, Athletics vs. Baltimore Orioles, $5,100: Despite their recent struggles, the Athletics have some very exciting young bats that bring high upside. Wilson has been outstanding all season, hitting .369 with eight homers and a .407 wOBA, and he has been even hotter lately and much more productive at home than on the road.
In his home splits, Wilson is hitting .397 with a .440 wOBA and has hit four of his eight homers. In his last 12 games, he is an incredible 25-for-50 (.500) with four doubles, three homers, a stolen base and a .545 wOBA. He has been an on-base machine, and he should continue to thrive out of the second spot in the order for the A’s against Morton and the O’s this Saturday.

Ronny Mauricio, New York Mets at Colorado Rockies, $3,000: Playing at Coors gives Mauricio an extremely high ceiling at just $3,000. He was called up on Tuesday, when Mark Vientos (hamstring) was placed on the 15-day IL, but Mauricio has only gone 1-for-12 with a double so far in the majors.
He showed much more potential in both power and speed during his time in the minors. He suffered a torn ACL at the end of 2023 in the Winter League and missed all of 2024 and the start of 2025. After his late start, he went 17-for-33 (.515) with three homers, four stolen bases and a 48.3% hard-hit rate in nine games at Triple-A. He’s boom-or-bust but there is a high ceiling to using him at only $3,000.
OUTFIELD
Stud
Jackson Chourio, Milwaukee Brewers vs. San Diego Padres, $5,000: Chourio and the Brewers were shut out in the first game of their home series against San Diego, but I think they’ll be able to bounce back against Stephen Kolek ($8,000) on Saturday night. Chourio had eight fantasy points despite the loss on Friday, going 1-for-4 with his 13th stolen base of the season.
Chourio has 10 homers as well while hitting .260 overall with a .315 wOBA. Over his last seven games, the 21-year-old righty has seemed to find a new gear, going 13-for-32 (.406) with two doubles, two home runs and four stolen bases for an average of 15.6 fantasy points per game. Chourio’s recent increase in aggression on the basepaths makes him an even better play since it gives him more paths to posting big games.

Lawrence Butler, Athletics vs. Baltimore Orioles, $4,400: Even though Morton has been good lately, I love stacking Butler and Wilson at the top of the Athletics order. He has a nice dual-threat ceiling like Chourio and averaged 13 fantasy points per game over his last 16 contests.
Over that stretch, he is hitting .391 with a .496 wOBA and three of his nine home runs this season. He has been smashing the ball over that stretch with a 59.5% hard-hit rate, a 14.3% barrel rate and an average exit velocity of 93 miles per hour. He had 14 fantasy points on Friday with his sixth multi-hit game in his last eight contests. He finished with 12+ fantasy points in four of his last five games.

Denzel Clarke, Athletics vs. Baltimore Orioles, $2,400: Clarke has picked up nine hits in his last eight games, going 9-for-27 (.333) with a double, a home run and three stolen bases. In those games, he has averaged 9.3 fantasy points per contest with a 46.7% hard-hit rate.
He had to leave Friday’s game after crashing into the wall in the fourth inning, but he was just diagnosed with a shoulder contusion and is day-to-day. If he’s in the lineup hitting ninth, as he typically has been, he makes a good wraparound stack with Butler and Wilson.
