UPDATE: The x-rays and CT scan came back clean.
UPDATE: Volpe has been diagnosed with a left elbow contusion.
It’s been an excellent day for the New York Yankees, who are up 7-0 on the rival Boston Red Sox. Unfortunately it comes at a cost, as Anthony Volpe has been removed from the game.
Volpe was hit in the arm by a Walker Buehler pitch in the second inning, as you can see below:
He stayed in the game for one inning defensively, but was taken out before the top of the fourth inning began. It’s possible that this is precautionary as the Yankees hold a big lead and have a capable backup in Oswald Peraza. Volpe homered in the bottom of the first inning and is currently one of our leaders in the DraftKings King of the Diamond contest.
The DK Network will provide further updates on Volpe as we receive them.
