WNBA Picks: Basketball Best Bets, Predictions, Odds on DraftKings Sportsbook for September 13

Friday’s WNBA slate features five matchups, with plenty of betting options on DraftKings Sportsbook to consider. The regular season is winding down, with the final slate coming soon on Sept. 19. Be sure to take advantage of the action while you still can.

Four of these games all begin at the same 7:30 p.m. EST tipoff time. The Las Vegas Aces and Indiana Fever finish a two-game mini-series. The Chicago Sky will try to play spoiler on the road against the Minnesota Lynx. The Dallas Wings host the Seattle Storm. Lastly, the Washington Mystics and Atlanta Dream square off.

The final game of this slate involves the Connecticut Sun and Phoenix Mercury, which tips off at 10:00 p.m. EST.

Let’s look below at my top bets for Friday’s WNBA betting card with analysis based on recent trends and player strength.

Las Vegas Aces vs. Indiana Fever

Under Total 177 Points (-108)

The Aces and Fever will face off again for the second time this week, but strong indicators are suggesting the total score will fall under 177 points at -108 on DraftKings Sportsbook. While the Aces’ high-powered offense, led by MVP favorite A’ja Wilson, has averaged 91 points in three games against the Fever this season, the Fever have struggled to keep up, averaging just 74.7 points in those matchups. With Las Vegas holding Indiana to limited scoring in all three games, the under looks appealing.

Indiana’s scoring woes are compounded by a cooling-off period after their hot shooting streak post-Olympics. Caitlin Clark, who has been a key contributor for the Fever, struggled mightily in the last matchup, shooting 1 of 10 from beyond the arc and scoring just 16 points. The Aces have proven they can contain Clark and disrupt Indiana’s transition game, further limiting Fever’s ability to push the pace and score efficiently.

The risk to taking the under lies in the Aces’ offensive firepower, as they can score at will against Indiana’s weaker defense. However, the Fever’s offensive inconsistencies, highlighted by Aliyah Boston’s six-point outing in the last game, could help keep the overall score in check.

Caitiln Clark Under 21.5 Points (-120)

Clark faces an uphill battle against the Aces, and taking the under on 21.5 points at -120 on DraftKings Sportsbook looks like a viable option. In three matchups against the Aces this season, Clark has struggled significantly, averaging just 12.3 points while shooting 28.6% from the field and 18.2% from three. The Aces’ defense has proven to be a tough puzzle for her to solve, limiting her ability to get into a scoring rhythm and forcing her into 5.7 turnovers per game.

Las Vegas ranks first in the league in defensive rebounds and is fifth in defensive rating, making it even harder for Clark to find open looks or easy scoring opportunities. With the Aces’ defense keyed in on limiting her transition game and putting pressure on her perimeter shooting, Clark has been unable to get past the 21.5-point mark this season against Las Vegas.

If her recent performances against Las Vegas are any indication, betting on Clark to stay under 21.5 points is the safer play. However, if you believe she can break out of her slump, you can get over 21.5 points at +100 on DraftKings Sportsbook. But given the Aces’ strong defense and Clark’s track record in this matchup, the under seems like the better bet for Friday.

Chicago Sky vs. Minnesota Lynx

Sky +12.5 (-108)

The Sky is still in the hunt for the final playoff spot, sitting just one game ahead of the Dream and Mystics. Following their 31-point blowout loss to Washington, the Sky will be looking for redemption with only four games left to realize their postseason hopes.

While Minnesota has been dominant, winning 11 of their last 12 games, Chicago has kept their previous two matchups against the Lynx competitive, losing by just 8 and 5 points. Kamilla Cardoso has been a standout, especially in their recent meeting, where she posted 22 points and nine rebounds.

Despite their losing streak, the Sky appear to have a good chance to cover a +13 spread against the Lynx at -112 on DraftKings Sportsbook. Despite losing Angel Reese, the Sky have shown they can hold their own against top teams.

Kamilla Cardoso 12+ Points (-105)

It’s not an easy task to put up a strong offensive display against the Lynx—the WNBA’s best defensive team. However, that arguably could once again play into Cardoso’s favor since being in the paint, she could be the beneficiary of missed shots from her teammates.

The recent trend is in Cardoso’s favor. She’s scored 12 or more points in four of her previous five previous games. As previously mentioned, her performance racking up 22 points and 9 rebounds against the Lynx was the top performance during this stretch.

On DraftKings Sportsbook, Cardoso is -105 to score 12 or more points against Minnesota. Depending on how confident you are in her outlook, you can get 15+ points at +240, 18+ points at +600, or 20+ points at +1000. If she has a repeat performance against the Lynx, that could prove to be very lucrative.

Seattle Storm vs. Dallas Wings

Wings +11 (-108)

While the Storm is pushing for home-court advantage in the playoffs, the Wings are playing for pride, particularly following Arike Ogunbowale’s milestone achievement. Ogunbowale, who recently became the the franchise’s all-time leading scorer. She continues to provide a strong impact, averaging 22.6 points per game—trailing only A’ja Wilson.

Despite a tough season, the Wings have a good chance to cover the +11 spread against the Seattle Storm at -108 on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Though the Wings have struggled, losing six straight games, they are at home and playing back-to-back games can sometimes trigger a quality bounce-back performance. Regardless, Dallas may not win, but they should be motivated to end the season on a high note.

Satou Sabally 18+ Points (+105)

Since scoring an efficient 18 points against the Dream a week ago, Satou Sabally sorely struggled to score over her previous three performances. She’s coming off a four-point performance against the Liberty in a 32-point loss. That outing came after being held to only nine by New York in the first of two matchups. Chicago held her to 12 points as well.

With Natasha Howard sidelined due to personal reasons, the Wings will surely rely on Sabally to shoulder a heavier offensive workload. The one-two punch Sabally has formed with Arike Ogunbowale will be neeeded to set the tone in a major way.

On DraftKings Sportsbook, Sabally is +105 to score 18+ points against the Storm. She hasn’t played against Seattle yet this season after missing the Wings’ entire schedule before the Olympic break. She averaged 20.3 points in four games against Seattle last season.

Washington Mystics vs. Atlanta Dream

Mystics +4 (-110)

After a rough start coming out of the Olympic break, the Mystics have bounced back, winning six of their last eight games. This includes a dominant 89-58 win over the Sky amid a playoff push.

The Mystics are in strong form before facing the Dream, affording them a solid outlook to cover a +4 spread at -110 on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Aaliyah Edwards has been key for Washington, delivering a double-double in their last outing with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Meanwhile, Atlanta has struggled, losing seven of their last nine games. Rhyne Howard has cooled off—being held to an inefficient 14 points by the Lynx.

Given the Mystics’ surge and Atlanta’s inconsistency, Washington has momentum on its side. Their defense has been locking down opponents, and if they can keep Howard in check, they could get the job done.
