With the 2023 NFL regular season in the books, it’s time to look ahead. No, not to the playoffs, silly. To the NFL head coaching carousel!

Every year, a handful of the top jobs in the league become available due to various reasons, but mostly because their team has not lived up to the hype or deeply disappointed in the previous campaign.

As of January 9, there are currently six head coaching vacancies after the Tennessee Titans announced that they have parted ways with coach Mike Vrabel after six seasons with the franchise.

The number of available opportunities could grow, depending on what the New England Patriots decide to do with legendary coach Bill Belichick. That appears to be the only other job in question.

Below is a list of the other available head coaching jobs as of Jan. 9.

Available NFL head coaching jobs

New England Patriots

The New England Patriots and Bill Belichick have parted ways after 24 seasons. Belichick still wants to coach, but the Patriots will look to fill the six Super Bowl sized hole he leaves.

Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks convinced Pete Carroll to move on to an advisory role and will start their search for a new head coach. This was a surprise move.

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons fired coach Arthur Smith following Atlanta’s Week 18 blowout loss to the New Orleans Saints as fantasy football fans rejoiced.

Carolina Panthers

Panthers owner David Tepper fired coach Frank Reich in Week 9 before he could complete a full season as Carolina’s head coach.

Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders cleaned house back in November, getting rid of head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler. Could interim coach Antonio Pierce take over?

Tennessee Titans
