Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Christian Kirk suffered an injury on the Jaguars first play from scrimmage. Kirk was wide open and caught a pass from Trevor Lawrence, but crumpled after the catch without being touched. He appeared to reach down to his inner thigh, but it’s impossible to know exactly what the injury is yet.

Kirk walked gingerly off the field and is now headed to the locker room. At this point we likely will see more Zay Jones moving forward.

Christian Kirk injury updates

Friday update: As expected, Christian Kirk has been placed on injured reserve, ending his regular season and his chances to play on your fantasy team.

Monday update: Kirk will require surgery, per Demetrius Harvey. He still didn’t give a timetable for his return, but it’s looking like he will miss the bulk of the fantasy football playoffs.

Update: Kirk has been diagnosed with a core muscle injury. Head coach Doug Pederson says that he will miss “some time” so it sounds like Kirk is already doubtful for Week 14 against the Browns.

Update: Kirk has been officially ruled out for the rest of the game with a groin injury.

Update: Kirk is officially questionable to return with a groin injury. After seeing him walk off and knowing this is a soft tissue injury, I don’t think we’ll see him again in this game.

Fantasy football impact

Zay Jones should see the biggest increase in work, but Evan Engram and Calvin Ridley will be in line for a bump as well. If this is a significant injury, Jones could become a useful fantasy football player in the fantasy playoffs.
