Prior to that, he was the former sports editor for the Harvard Crimson, where he covered the football team for two years and earned four Story of the Year nominations from the Associated College Press. A lifelong Lakers and Dodgers fan, Griffin’s favorite athlete of all time is Kobe Bryant. When he’s not writing, Griffin is usually skiing, running, golfing, or playing basketball — badly.
Through the first five weeks of his tenure with the Pittsburgh Steelers, it looked like D.K. Metcalf’s divorce with the Seattle Seahawks was working out well for him. The veteran wideout caught a touchdown pass in four of his first five games to establish himself as a fantasy WR1 as he developed chemistry with Aaron […]

The first month of the NBA season is a perfect time to overreact to small trends. Just two weeks ago, it seemed like the Chicago Bulls — perhaps the league’s ultimate symbol of mediocrity over the last few seasons — might be a legitimate playoff team. Since then, though, Chicago has dropped each of its […]

For likely the last time this season, the Las Vegas Raiders will appear on prime-time, finishing a public slow fade for what has been one of the NFL’s more disappointing teams this season. Entering tonight’s 8:15 p.m. ET game against the Dallas Cowboys, Las Vegas is just 2-7 and, like all awful teams, has found […]

Last Friday night was a pretty epic one in the NBA: of the nine-game slate, two games went into overtime, and four others were decided by fewer than 10 points. The New York Knicks got that day’s Emirates NBA Cup action started off with a 140-132 win over the Miami Heat at Madison Square Garden. […]

One season after climbing out of the NBA’s cellar, the Detroit Pistons are proving that 2024-25 was no fluke. Regardless of the personnel they’ve put on the court, the Pistons have found ways to win games, and at 10-2, they sit atop the Eastern Conference entering Friday’s Emirates NBA Cup play, 2.5 games ahead of […]

The NFL’s Week 11 slate stands out as one with several intriguing matchups, but the one with the biggest playoff implications is the 4:05 p.m. ET game between the Seattle Seahawks and the Los Angeles Rams. Both teams are 7-2, tied with the Philadelphia Eagles for the best record in the NFC, though Seattle holds […]

After a dominant win against the Sacramento Kings last night, the Atlanta Hawks are now 6-2 since Trae Young went down with a knee sprain, raising further questions about his value to the organization that traded Luka Dončić for him on draft night in 2018. Widely expected to be pretty good this season largely because […]
