Ladd McConkey (back) is questionable to return to today’s game between the Chargers and the Texans, the team announced. This is after he apparently suffered back spasms in his pregame warmups.
McConkey’s questionable designation leaves open the possibility of a return, but further details about the injury’s severity were not immediately available.
The third-year receiver has already worked through several injuries this season. He missed Week 5 with a foot injury and exited the Week 6 loss to Kansas City with a concussion before returning against the Rams following Los Angeles’ bye.
Losing McConkey would interrupt a passing game that had just gotten him back. Despite his 86 yards against the Rams, the Chargers managed only three field goals in a 24–9 loss. They entered Sunday having gone nine straight quarters without an offensive touchdown.
