UPDATE: J.J. McCarthy has returned to today’s matchup between the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles.
Giants’ starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy has left today’s matchup against the Eagles following a hard hit coming from Zack Baun as he tried to pick up yards as a runner.
New York is officially calling it a hip injury, and McCarthy is considered questionable to return.
McCarthy was in clear pain on the sideline as he attempted to play through the issue. While attempting to throw a pass on the sideline, the former Michigan standout collapsed to the ground in clear pain.
It has been a rough stretch of injuries for the Giants at the quarterback position, with McCarthy the latest victim. Jaxson Dart suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 2, and New York made the decision to trade for McCarthy as a solution to this.
Jameis Winston has entered the game in relief of McCarthy, and the 23-year-old has since been taken to the locker room for further evaluation.
More updates will be added as they are provided by the team. Stay tuned to DK Network for further updates on him.
