Best NHL Anytime Goal Scorer Picks for November 8
Sam Reinhart Anytime Goal Scorer (+190)
Reinhart has found the back of the net in four of his past five games, and his 1.74 xGoals per 60 rank T-3rd among 588 skaters with at least 100 minutes of ice time. Six of the 31-year-old’s nine goals have come on the power play, and he continues finding the dangerous areas, ranking 12th in high-danger unblocked attempts per 60 (1.91) among those skaters.
Jeremy Swayman is expected to start for Boston with a .912 SV% and 2.31 GAA, and his +7.3 GSAx and +1.09% SV% above expected rank sixth and 12th, respectively, among 75 goaltenders, so the matchup isn’t exactly easy. Florida is also on the second night of a back-to-back after losing 4-3 in Washington on Saturday, but Boston’s penalty kill ranks 16th (76.8%).
Joel Farabee Anytime Goal Scorer (+195)
Philadelphia has allowed 3.51 xGoals against per 60 this season, the fourth-most of any team, and it ranks fourth-worst at 5v5 as well (2.90). Dan Vladar projects to start in net with an .883 SV% and 3.21 GAA, and he ranks 31st in both GSAx (-0.2) and SV% above expected (-0.05%).
Farabee has scored in six of his past 10 outings, including a power-play goal against Anaheim on Friday. The 26-year-old skates on Calgary’s top line and first power-play unit, and nine of his 16 points have come with the man advantage. His six goals have come on 5.63 xGoals, and he potted 20 goals last season. Getting nearly 2-to-1 odds on a top-line winger against a leaky Flyers defense is worth the play.
Cutter Gauthier Anytime Goal Scorer (+110)
Gauthier has been red-hot, scoring 10 goals over just his past five games, including hat tricks against both Ottawa and Vancouver. The 22-year-old’s 12 goals and 66 shots on goal both lead the Ducks, and his 2.46 goals per 60 rank first among skaters with at least 100 minutes of ice time.
He’s scoring well above his 7.28 xGoals, but this is also a player who racked up 41 goals last season, and nine of his 12 this year have come on the power play. Pittsburgh is on the second night of a back-to-back after Saturday’s 5-2 win in Los Angeles, too.
