Parker Washington Start or Sit Advice for Week 9
The Jaguars destroyed the Colts this past Sunday, 42-7, but Parker Washington ($9,400) wasn’t much of a factor, catching just one of his two targets for 16 yards (3.6 FPTS).
The problem was the overall lack of passing volume, as Trevor Lawrence ($10,600) attempted just 14 throws, which is his season low by nine attempts. Jacksonville ranked second-to-last in pass rate for Week 8 (37.7%) as the team relied on it’s ground game to drain the clock.
The Jaguars are likely to find themselves in another positive game script this Thursday vs. the Ravens, with Jacksonville being a 10-point favorite for this matchup on DraftKings Sportsbook. That being said, Lawrence only throwing 14 passes simply isn’t going to happen again and Washington only seeing two targets is extremely unlikely, as well.
Baltimore is a solid matchup, with it’s defense giving up the 13th-most yards per pass this season (7.4), and Washington should bounce back in this spot. The 24-year-old is the No. 21 scoring receiver for fantasy football and he has reached double-digit FPTS in five games, with his best outing being 33.4 FPTS vs. the Eagles in Week 5.
Washington is leading the Jaguars with a 22.9% target share and a 78.5% route rate this season, including 14 red zone targets and 10 targets over 20 yards. Washington is averaging 2.47 YPRR, which ranks 13th of the players who have run 100+ routes this season. For this matchup vs. the Ravens, Washington’s prop lines on DraftKings Sportsbook are 4.5 catches for 64.5 yards and he carries +150 odds to score a touchdown.
Washington is a strong WR3 in this spot and even considering sitting him after last week’s dud would be a major overreaction.
