Falcons vs. Buccaneers NFL Player Prop Bets for Week 8

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Every team in the NFC South is below .500, and they’re all within one game of each other. With 10 games left in the regular season, anyone can take the division, and it’ll probably be ugly. That makes this Sunday showdown between the Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers even more interesting, and the player prop market is loaded with value.

Tampa Bay is a 2.5-point home favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook. Atlanta is +110 to win the game outright, with the total set at 43.5 points.

Let’s dive into the top player prop bets for Sunday’s clash between the Falcon and the Buccaneers.

Falcons vs. Buccaneers NFL Player Prop Bets

Bijan Robinson Under 80.5 Rushing Yards (-110)

It would be an understatement to say that Bijan Robinson is the focus of Atlanta’s offense; he might as well be their entire offense. Their superstar running back will be the best player on the field, but he faces an awfully stiff test against this Tampa Bay front seven. The Buccaneers have allowed only 541 total yards on the ground through seven weeks, the second-fewest in the league, while holding their opponents to a stout 3.6 YPA. No wonder star defensive tackle Vita Vea wants a bigger contract.

Results for Robinson have been shaky as of late. He got taken out of the game flow entirely against Chicago in Week 6, rushing nine times for 61 yards. It was uglier in the following win over the 49ers, where Robinson was stonewalled for 63 yards on 20 carries. Teams are dialing up the pressure, and they don’t believe that Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. can make them pay for their aggression. This Tampa Bay front seven will bring it all day and keep Bijan and the Falcons’ running game frustrated.

Baker Mayfield 230+ Passing Yards (+140)

This season hasn’t been fun for Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield. In his first three starts of the season, all losses, Mayfield was held to 217 yards or less with a paltry 2:2 touchdown-to-interception ratio. During that Week 3 start against the Vikings, Mayfield suffered a dislocated thumb that knocked him out for three weeks.

Mayfield’s return in Week 7 was a happy one, as the Bucs dismantled the Panthers 43-13. But he didn’t exactly produce through the air with this game getting out of hand early. Baker threw only 11 passes in that game, completing seven of them for 64 yards and a score. Not exactly lighting up the box score.

Of course, Mayfield cares about the win more than anything. But to win in this matchup, Tampa Bay will have to throw the ball. Emeka Egbuka’s absence certainly hurts, but this Falcons secondary has been very susceptible to the pass, giving up the fourth-most passing yards of the season. This is a great chance for Baker to get his legs underneath him and set a season-high in passing yards.
