If you asked Cardinals and Cowboys fans whether they were happy with their seasons, it’s hard to imagine many saying yes. Expectations were low for Arizona, and a 2-5 start isn’t the worst thing imaginable, but it’s far from a promising campaign after years of futility. Dallas has been trying to fix its defense for years in hopes of competing for the NFC East, but they are under .500 yet again. In a clash packed with offensive talent, we’re sure to see some fireworks as these teams strive to build a winning record.
Dallas is a seven-point home favorite with -310 moneyline odds on DraftKings Sportsbook. Arizona is a +250 underdog, with the game total set at O/U 54.5 points.
Let’s dive into the top player prop bets for Sunday’s clash between the Cardinals and the Cowboys.
Cardinals vs. Cowboys NFL Player Prop Bets
Javonte Williams 80+ Rushing Yards (+107)
Dallas’ offense had a big rebound against the Eagles last week, piling up 38 points while controlling the game script through Williams. Their bell-cow running back took the rock 25 times for 155 rushing yards, picking up numerous chunk gains against a strong Philly front seven while scoring his league-leading eighth rushing touchdown. Dak Prescott and Dallas’ talented receivers get much of the attention, but Williams has been the metronome for this offense.
Against Arizona, Dallas shouldn’t have much trouble controlling the clock. The Cardinals are 23rd in total rushing yards allowed and 25th in yards per carry allowed, making this a great spot for the Cowboys to pound the rock. It’s going to be another workmanlike day for Dallas’ top tailback.
Jeremiyah Love 50+ Rushing Yards (+129)
Williams isn’t the only tailback set up for a big day. Arizona has struggled to stop the run, but it’s nothing compared to the Cowboys. Dallas has already allowed 1,020 rushing yards through seven games, which is the most in the NFL. Despite all their investment in the middle of the defense, they’re getting destroyed on the ground, allowing a whopping 4.7 yards per carry.
The Cardinals may hesitate to give Love a full workload as he returns from an ankle injury. But he’s been a full participant in practice, while backup Tyler Allgeier has been limited with a toe injury. In this juicy matchup, Arizona needs to run the ball not only to keep the chains moving but to keep their vulnerable defense from being carved up by the Cowboys. They’ll lean on the rookie early, and he has the big-play potential to offset concerns about total rushing volume.
Same Game Parlay: Dak Prescott 270+ Passing Yards + 2+ Passing Touchdowns (+108)
If there’s a game that gets the entire Dallas offense going, it’s this one. Williams’ running will open up routes downfield for CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and Ryan Flournoy; Dak Prescott will have no problem pushing the ball downfield. So far, Arizona has allowed 7.4 net yards per passing attempt, the fourth-worst mark in the league.
To make matters worse, the Cardinals have conceded 17 passing touchdowns through seven games. When favored on the spread this season, Prescott has thrown for multiple scores on three of four occasions. I expect that trend to continue here.
