Best NHL Player Props for October 29
Lucas Raymond 3+ Shots on Goal (-125)
Raymond has recorded at least three shots on goal in seven of his past 10 games, averaging 3.3 shots per game over that stretch. He ranks second on the Red Wings with 37 shots through 12 games, behind only Alex DeBrincat, and averages 20:37 of ice time. Raymond skates alongside Dylan Larkin and plays on Detroit’s first power-play unit, and his 8.97 shots on goal per 60 minutes rank tied for 46th among 547 skaters with at least 100 minutes of ice time.
Chicago is simply a strong matchup for a volume shooter like Raymond. The Blackhawks allow 30.3 shots per game, the sixth-most in the NHL, and 7.6 shots per game to left wings, the third-most. Chicago has also controlled just 41.0% of the expected goals at 5v5, which ranks 30th, so Detroit should be spending a healthy amount of time in the offensive zone.
Mikhail Sergachev 1+ Point (-145)
Sergachev has recorded a point in eight of his past 10 outings and enters Thursday riding a five-game point streak. His 15 points through 13 games tie Clayton Keller for Utah’s team lead, and he has 10 more points than any other Mammoth defenseman. Sergachev averages 23:22 of ice time on the top pair with MacKenzie Weegar and runs Utah’s first power-play unit, which converts at 34.8%, the second-best rate in the NHL. Six of his 15 points have come on the power play.
Pittsburgh has allowed 3.25 goals per game and 2.83 goals per 60 minutes at 5v5, the seventh-most in the league. Arturs Silovs will likely draw the start tonight for the Penguins with an .890 SV% and 2.87 GAA.
Tyler Toffoli 1+ Point (+110)
Toffoli has recorded a point in six of his past 10 games, but his four-game point streak was snapped on Tuesday against Buffalo. He has four goals and nine points through 13 games, tied with Ivar Stenberg for second on the Sharks behind Macklin Celebrini, and four of those points have come on the man advantage. Toffoli skates on San Jose’s third line with Kiefer Sherwood and Filip Bystedt, plays on the second power-play unit and averages 12:52 of ice time.
Vancouver is arguably the worst team in the NHL, and it has let up a ton of goals through its first 14 outings. The Canucks have allowed a league-high 4.64 goals and 32.8 shots per game, and their penalty kill ranks 31st at 63.8%. Vancouver has controlled just 38.4% of the expected goals at 5v5, last in the NHL, and its .859 team save percentage is also the worst in the league. Leevi Merilainen is expected to start with a .900 SV% and 3.35 GAA.
